Some of the pros of npp for me: spell check, handles utf-8 well (important even in English if you care about proper typography), it reopens with all the documents you had open (at least in windows 8+), Emmet plugin, Explorer file browser plugin (though it makes it look even less elegant), multiple file find/replace (Regex makes it more powerful though I find that very nonintuitive and you should backup files when doing a wildcard replace across files), file Compare plugin. Adding Emmet makes it like Sublime-you can use a similar color scheme (though npp will always seem more bulky). Use the Revert button to reset all the modifications on the picture, which comes back to its original. It does a lot so it has a bit of a learning curve. At the bottom of the Adjust palette, you have two buttons. I resisted Notepad++ at first, but now I'm using Grunt and npp is my editor. I tried Corel PaintShop Pro X2 and hated it (though someone else here likes X6 so maybe it improved). I went from psp5 to 8 and didn't go back once I got used to it. It is recommended to restore the original security settings after the installation is. I still use psp8 on windows 10 with no problems (occasionally crashes).
